Originally from West Yorkshire now retired and living in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales.
Self-taught I have drawn and painted all my life ~ mostly for my own pure enjoyment.
I have exhibited and been a prize winner at the British Society of Painters and the
International Guild of Artists exhibitions in Ilkley.

My works are predominantly with Karisma, Derwent and Caran d’Ache pencils, these being my
favourites, but do I also work in pastel, water colour and gouache. 

Working with pencils I find nothing equals them for precision in details such as coat textures
and expressions, especially in the eyes of animals.

I feel very strongly about coloured pencil becoming accepted as a fine art medium and sincerely
hope they will eventually achieve the popularity and acceptability they already have in America.

I do not actively seek commissions ~ preferring to paint and draw the subjects I enjoy.

Some of my paintings are in private collections in the UK, Australia, Europe and America.
